Pappadavada is a famous tea time snack in Kerala. This is an easy version of making Pappadavada. Let’s see how to make this at home.



Pappadavada/Pappad Fritters

Ingredients

Pappad/pappadam-10 nos
Rice flour-1 cup
Chilly powder-1/2tsp
Kashmiri chilly powder-1/4tsp (optional)
Hing a pinch
Black sesame seeds-1/2tsp
Cumin seeds-1/2tsp
Fennel seeds-1/4tsp
Turmeric powder a pinch
Water-3/4 cup/ as needed
Salt as needed
Oil for frying

Preparation

·         Dry the pappads in the sun for 15 to 20 mins.
·         Then take a bowl and add rice flour, turmeric powder, chilly powder, Kashmiri chilly powder, hing, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, sesame seeds, salt, water to make a loose batter.
·         Stir well to blend everything well.
·         Heat oil in a pan.
·         Then take one pappad and dip it in the batter (one pappad at a time).
·         Make sure that both sides are adequately coated.
·         Remove the excess batter.
·         Then place the pappad in the oil and fry it on a medium flame.
·         Turn the other side and fry it till it turns crispy.
·         Repeat the same step to all pappads.
Our crispy pappadavadas are ready to serve.
