Very delicious & popular breakfast recipe from south India. Noolappam is usually served with potato stew at my place. Today we will learn how to make soft noolappams.
Noolappam / Idiyappam |
Ingredients
Roasted Rice flour-1 cup
Grated Coconut - 1cup
Salt
Water-1cup +Milk/Coconut milk-1/2cup
Oil- 1tsp
Preparation
·
Take a thick bottomed nonstick pan. Add 1 ½ cup
water, 1tsp oil and boil it.
·
Then add rice flour to it and stir immediately.
Water should reach everywhere.
·
Stir it continuously until it comes together to
form a dough.
·
Switch off the flame and transfer the dough to a
wide vessel.
·
Grease your palm with oil and knead the dough
smoothly.
·
Take the noolapam maker(Mould) and add small
portions of dough to it.
·
Take an idly maker, fill it with water and boil
it.
·
Grease idly mould with some oil.
·
Press the noolappam maker directly to the idly mould. Add
some coconut on the top and keep it in the idly maker.
·
Close the lid of idly maker and steam it for 5
to 6 minutes.
